Netherlands Around Europe

The Netherlands

The Amsterdam office of London-based global practice Linklaters launched a competition practice in June with the appointment of Paul Kreijger (pictured right) in a counsel role as its head. He joins from rivals Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he specialised in EU competition law, regulatory matters, administrative law, energy, public procurement and commercial litigation. Independent Dutch law firm Houthoff Buruma has jumped on the technology marketing bandwagon with the introduction of a BlackBerry application providing background information on all its 300 lawyers. According to the firm, the application will allow clients and others ‘to look up any of our lawyers and directly connect by dialling their number or sending an e-mail’.
