Global law firm DLA Piper has poached a two-partner, five-associate litigation team from Rome and Milan-based boutique practice Giuffre Scorcelli Rosa & Partners.
In a coup for the Anglo-US firm, DLA has lured 47-year-old Bruno Giuffre – the niche practice’s former managing partner – as part of a deal that sees him take the head of litigation role.
The other partner jumping to join DLA is David Marino, a commercial and insurance litigation specialist. According to DLA, the move boosts its Italian litigation practice to include insurance and white collar crime capacity.
Federico Sutti, DLA’s regional managing partner for Italy, flagged the firm’s intention to continue expanding in the country. ‘We intend to develop a much broader litigation practice,’ he said.
