Stefan Eder, the former CEE head of DLA Piper who recently joined Austrian boutique Benn-Ibler Rechtsanwälte, has led the advice on the purchase of Vienna’s largest office building.
The deal saw Matrix European Real Estate Investment Trust sell its main asset, the IZD Tower, to a joint venture led by Signa Recap Development Fund I. The 63,000 sqm complex was sold for €212.25m.
Benn-Ibler picked up the role working for the purchaser. Stefan Eder (pictured), who joined the boutique in March after a high-profile exit from DLA Piper, was in charge of the mandate. Wolf Theiss acted for Matrix through Lothar Wachter and Nikolaus Paul.
"The deal required the establishment of quite a complex transaction structure, in part because of the existing financing arrangements involving Lehman Brothers, as well as the multi-jurisdictional set up," Paul said.
