Spanish competition expert heads to Brussels

The Brussels office of Washington DC global law firm Hogan & Hartson has picked up leading Spanish lawyer and competition specialist Maranela Lopez Galdos.
According to the firm, Ms Galdos will advise on EU and Spanish competition law. She joins as the firm has also boosted its EC and UK competition practice in London with the recruitment of Helen Bignall, who has specialized in British cartel investigations.
Catriona Hatton, managing partner of the firm’s Brussels office and co-chair of the EU competition practice group, commented: ‘With more and more cross-border competition matters for our clients, the Brussels and London office frequently work closely together, and the arrival of Helen and Marianela is a great fit with our strategy to provide our clients with first-class pan-European competition advice.’
